I’ll be your Wilftographer today

Hi, I’m Wilford.

But baristas call me Wilfred, Wilber, Willard, or Wilmer.

I was born in Puerto Rico (my dad was in the Navy), but I grew up in the Philippines a few hours north of Manila. The youngest of four kids, I often had to entertain myself through drawing and painting, but I always wanted to learn photography.

My life behind the camera actually began with a stop-motion animation class that I took in 2021. A couple years later, I dusted off my DSLR and started taking portraits of my husband—learning all the professional lighting, composition, and editing techniques along the way. Personality-wise, I’m rather shy and introverted with new people, so photography helps me break out of my comfort zone.

By day, I work in healthcare as a clinical scientist. Outside the lab, I enjoy learning new forms of art, listening to audiobooks, CrossFit, drawing, learning Spanish, and traveling the country and world.

I’ve called San Francisco’s home since 2006.
